Presbyterian Women

Who We Are

We are a national organization of more than 5,000 women whose purpose is to nurture faith through prayer and Bible Study, to support the mission of the church worldwide and to work for justice and peace in our local communities and throughout the world. We aim to build an inclusive, caring community of women here at Central Presbyterian Church that strengthens the worldwide community of women and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

Presbyterian Women encourage spiritual growth as well as personal and corporate involvement in meeting the world’s needs. We enable and encourage women to accept leadership roles in the church to energize and strengthen it in God’s mission.

Mission projects are at the heart of Presbyterian Women’s work. Our mission efforts concentrate on local groups and international appeals. We support these through work, prayer, and coin.

Welcome

Presbyterian Women meet monthly or more often in smaller groups called CIRCLES. These circles are organized by activity, interests and member availability. All CIRCLES welcome new members at any time. Each spends time in bible study and works on our locally and nationally sponsored mission projects.

Our CIRCLES also sponsor a yearly retreat which gives many of us time to focus on our spiritual growth without the distraction of everyday cares. Each year we choose a different topic and spend a restful and refreshing weekend together.
The moderator of Presbyterian Women is Joanne Bilyew.

DEBORAH CIRCLE meets every third Thursday at 7:30 P.M. in members’ homes. This group picks a new bible study each year in order to strengthen and share faith through prayer and fellowship. Mary Lee Caggiano is the circle chair.
