If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat” by John Ortberg
Far too many of us have put our faith in a casual Christianity that never compels us to leave our comfort zones. But, deep within our hearts we know that Christ has not called us to comfort, but to an exciting, sacrificial and overwhelmingly fulfilling faith. In If You're Going to Walk on Water John Ortberg teaches us how to step out of the "boat" of casual Christianity so that we can faithfully follow the Lord who is calling us out onto the risky, exciting waters of the high seas. Let Pastor Ortberg teach you how to leave your comfort zone for a remarkable life of faith.

The Bible: “Why Does It Endure?”
For centuries the Bible has remained the number one bestselling book worldwide, influencing more people than any other published work. Although millions have honored the Bible as God’s revelation to humanity, its foundations and credibility continue to be challenged. How can an ancient book like the Bible really be considered God-breathed and inspired, offering timeless wisdom to all generations? Why does this collection of 66 books endure?
In this 3-part documentary you’ll take a closer look at the Bible with Daniel Wallace Ph.D., founder of the Center for the of Study of New Testament Manuscripts, and Peter Williams Ph.D., CEO of Tyndale House research center in Cambridge, England. From their travels abroad—researching manuscripts, events, people, and places—they share the fascinating process of their explorations and their results.
Gain a deeper understanding of what is revealed in these ancient manuscripts, what Jesus’ life and words say about the Bible, and what history reveals about the accuracy of the biblical text. Discover for yourself whether you have reason to believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God.

"The Prayer Experiment" (Jan 4th - March 30th)
One of the best ways to learn to pray is “by doing it”! On Wednesday nights, you will be given an opportunity to learn about some of the different ways God’s Holy Spirit leads as we practice praying together and praying for each other. There will be short lessons or mediations from the Word of God to help prepare us for the work of prayer each evening. But most of “learning” will come from “doing”. Then talk about what God was doing in our time.
Join Pastor Denny Finnegan at 6:30pm in Rooms 106-107.

Walk Through the Bible (Jan 4th - Feb 8th) “Exile & Restoration”
The children of Israel did not obey God’s law, and their kings encouraged the worship of false gods. Finally, God sent them into exile, but God still loved them, and finally God returned the exiles to Jerusalem. Through selected readings from Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah, the course explores this difficult time in the lives of God’s people.
Join Andy Blackwood at 6:30pm in Room 120.
