Worship Service on Sept 16, 2012

Welcome to worship at Central Presbyterian Church! This week, we are continuing our Fall session and welcoming our new co-Pastor, Pastor Bill Hess, who will be in the pulpit today. Provided during this service is our Nursery care, KidZone class for age 4 – 1st grade, and Worship Workshop for ages 2nd – 5th grade. We will worship with a blend of contemporary and traditional elements led by our Praise Team and Chancel Choir. Pastor Bill will be leading us in worship and preaching on trust, using Psalms 121 and Psalm 91:2.  Following the service, a Stephen Minister is available to pray with you over concerns regarding yourself or others. Join old friends and new in Fellowship Hall for refreshments after the service. This will also be our first week of Sunday School for all ages.

Get Out Those Walking Shoes!

This year’s Downingtown CROP WALK will take place Sunday, October 7th at 2:00 pm here at CPC. The purpose of the walk is to raise money which is then used to provide resources to fight hunger world wide and in Chester County. You can assist in one of two ways: Be a walker or sponsor a walker. For more information, please see Dan Beam at the Welcome Center. Looking forward to seeing you on October 7th!

Preschool Board Members Needed

Youth Update

Students and Parents take note that continuing this week, high school and middle school youth groups meet Sunday night. High Def and Mayhem will be meeting that night in separate locations in the building. We will need some additional helpers and leaders for those evenings. Please contact Colin if you are willing to serve in this capacity. More information about the changes will be coming in the weeks to follow.

Adopt a College Freshman Program

Each year, your Deacons organize a program to support our new college freshmen with prayers, cards, notes of encouragement and (if desired) small gifts or treats. It helps the student to feel they haven’t been forgotten by their church while away at school. We currently have 10 students from our congregation participating in this program and are looking for volunteers to “adopt” each of these students for the school year. If you are interested in adopting a freshman, stop by the Welcome Center to select a student and pick up their in formation card. For additional information, contact Jan Drury or Ann Roper.
