Worship Service on Sept 9, 2012
Welcome to worship at Central Presbyterian Church! This week we are beginning our new Fall season of worship, education, and activities at CPC! Our combined worship service will now be held at 9:00 am on Sundays. Provided during this service is our Nursery care and KidZone class for age 4 – 2nd grade. We will worship with a blend of contemporary and traditional elements led by our Praise Team and Chancel Choir. Pastor Chudy will be leading us in worship and preaching on Psalm 96. We will also be recognizing the 10th Anniversary of the preschool program at CPC, Kid’s Central, as well as honoring our own Sunday School teachers. A special blessing for our children and their backpacks will also be made. Following the service, a Stephen Minister is available to pray with you over concerns regarding yourself or others. Join old friends and new in Fellowship Hall for refreshments after the service.
This year’s Downingtown CROP WALK will take place Sunday, October 7th at 2:00 pm here at CPC. The purpose of the walk is to raise money which is then used to provide resources to fight hunger world wide and in Chester County. You can assist in one of two ways: Be a walker or sponsor a walker. For more information, please see Dan Beam at the Welcome Center. Looking forward to seeing you on the 7th!
Students and Parents take note that starting this Sunday, September 9th we will be changing high school and middle school youth groups to Sunday night. High Def and Mayhem will be meeting that night in separate locations in the building. We will need some additional helpers and leaders for those evenings. On the Financial Front
We are currently entering a time of new beginnings at CPC and there are many people within our congregation who are engaged in new and exciting ways as we discern God’s will for our future together. We have the time! We have the talent! We pray that God will provide the treasure as we remain faithful and trust in Him.
As we start the new 2012-2013 fiscal year, we ask you to prayerfully consider increasing your giving to CPC’s Core Fund so we may continue to pay our staff and meet our monthly operating expenses, especially during the summer months, when historically, our giving trends significantly downward. Thank you!
Wawa hoagie coupons are $3.75. Each coupon can be used to purchase a Shortie Hoagie, or used towards the purchase of other Wawa deli sandwiches. Coupons are available in the office during the week & at the Welcome Center on Sundays. Proceeds help support PW retreat scholarships & Mission projects.
