Our Mission is to Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.

We are a family of people of all ages and many backgrounds who share a common faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and who come together in this place to express our faith.   We worship God, study the Bible, teach our children, seek to serve others, enjoy friendships, and find God’s purpose for our lives together.

We are a church that tries new things, yet values tradition.   We're part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and delight in working with area Christian churches and organizations to further God’s kingdom here on Earth.   With this community of believers, we rally together for mission activities such as Crop Walk, we share worship activities like Praise in the Park, and we offer the Alpha course as one way to invite everyone into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We've been in Downingtown for over 135 years, and we're making plans for many more years to come- as many as God gives us.   If you're looking for a place to call home, a place of challenge and opportunity where you can meet and follow Christ, then we invite you to experience Central.

What We Believe

• God is bigger and better and closer than we can imagine.
• The Bible is God's Holy, infallible, inspired Word which is able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
• Jesus is God showing himself to us.   He is God's provision for our salvation.
• Through His Holy Spirit, God lives in and through us now.
• Nothing in creation “just happened.”   God made it all.
• Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God.
• Faith is the only way to grow in our relationship with God.
• God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice.
• God can bring good even out of evil events and God promises victory over evil to those who choose him.
• Heaven and hell are real places.   Death is a beginning, not the end.
• The church is to serve people like Jesus served people.
• Jesus is coming again.
