CROPWalk

CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events held in cities and towns across the United States, created to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.

After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised is returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts. Central will be the host location for the Downingtown Walk again in 2025.

To register to join the walk or sponsor a walker, please click below or email Alexandra Barainyak with questions.

Please bring a shelf stable food or paper good donation on the day of the CROP Walk to be donated to one of the local food pantries that our walk supports. They can be brought at 2pm or to Worship that morning to the CROP table in the narthex.

Summer Re-run: Parables—Reading the Stories of Jesus in a New Light

Telling stories, parables, was a central facet of Jesus’s approach to sharing his message and vision.  He was doing more than telling simple morality tales. His stories were grounded in the world in which he lived and his vision of the kingdom of God.

Each week we will view a 10-minute video on one parable and then have a casual discussion.  Each class session is independent.
